On that day when evening came, He said to His disciples, "let us go over to the other side." Leaving the crowd behind, they took Him along. Mark 4:35-36
Before I jumped off my bed to write this article, I had traced Jim Rohn's assertion on crowd. Jim said "Don't join an uneasy crowd, you won't grow. Go where your expectations and the demands to perform are high."
Isn't Jim's advice a dandy?
The word crowd means a group of people congregated or collected into a close body without order. It's pertinent to note that where order is lacking, decorum is far fetched, therefore interest is seldom expressed, demands are neglected and values are plunged down the mud.
The above topic was given birth to out of necessity of which I'm convinced that someone down the street of America, Africa, Europe, Asia or any other part of the world is going to hum a melody after digesting this piece of work.
One of the most outstanding truths about God's creation is that He created every man an original. It's in this belief that desires, interests and values are found. The ability to acknowledge the above qualities
desires, interests and values) that determines the 'self-order' which has a direct link with performance. It's only when the 'self' is not organized that results of an engagement can be lost, then help is sought in the crowd.
Friends, as meditation is deeper than a thought, so also knowledge is more powerful than the influence of a crowd. An uneasy crowd is known by its wavering influence, but where true knowledge is found, unwanted influence is controlled.
It has been my observation however, that one of the utterances of a man in a crowd has always been "after all, I'm not the only one." As wrong as that belief could be, it has also diverted many folks' focus and placed them on illusion and unhealthy independence, denied them of self- confidence and introduced fears into their souls.
I once told a friend that multitude can be too intimidating, especially when there are no personal decisions.
Dear me, you were made to control your desires, not the crowd. Purpose and values can be stagnated, turned unfruitful, and misunderstood when a man thinks he is on the right track with the crowd. Don't forget that every innovation is made by a focused, strong mind.
To be continued... Before then, stay blessed.
